Chapter One
After reading chapter one, how would you describe Dill? Support your description with the text.
Chapter Two
How did Scout’s initial attitude about school change after she started her first day? What caused this change in attitude? Do you think her attitude about school will remain the same throughout the rest of the story or do you think it will change again?
Chapter Three
Take on the role of Miss Caroline in the conflict she had with Burris Ewell on pages 25-28. How would you have handled the situation differently? How do you think the other students felt during this conflict?
Chapter Four
Refer to the following sentence found on page 33:
“Some tinfoil was sticking in a knot-hole just above my eye level, winking at me in the afternoon sun.”
What figure of speech is being used? How does using this type of language make the sentence more descriptive?
Chapter Five
Jem and Dill decide that they want to give Boo Radley a note. If you were writing a note to Boo Radley, what would your note say? How would you go about giving the note to Boo Radley?

I would describe Dill as curious and adventurous. However I would also say that he a little scared. I think that he is scared because he dared Jem to go and touch the Radley house but he wouldn't do it himself. All around though Dill is a carefree type of kid.
Chapter 1:
I would say that Dill is mostly curious and seeks information about other events. For example, on page 13, Dill said, "Wonder what he looks like?", referring to the Radley house. A few paragraphs later, he also stated, "Lets try to make him come out." This shows how Dill is a curious character trying to get familiar with Maycomb.
You both have great ideas about the character Dill. I agree that he is definitely curious, especially about the Radley House. One part of the text states that “…he would stand, his arms around the fat (light)pole staring and wondering.” (pg. 8) It also states, “The more we told Dill about the Radleys, the more he wanted to know, the longer he would stand hugging the light pole on the corner, the more he would wonder.” (pg. 12) I also like the other adjectives that you used to describe him such as carefree and adventurous. Well done!! Keep up the good reading!
chapter 2
When scout first thought of going to school, she saw it as an adventure. she was excited to go to school. Her teacher was harsh when scout got to school. SHE was upset that scout could already read. There was walter too, all in all, her day wasn't great. I have a feeling that her year will improve, as she becomes more accustomed to her life outside of school:Jem, Dill, Boo Radley, and her own home.
CHAPTER 4
PERSONIFICATION
This makes it more descriptive, because it adds a more detailed side to the passage. THis is good, because it shows more of what's happening in the chapter.
